Award winning housing development welcomes record numbers to open weekend

SJ Roberts Homes opened the doors to two new show homes at phase two of its award winning Allscott Meads housing development this weekend and welcomed a record number of interested buyers.

Over 150 people visited the site over the two days, a figure significantly up on a similar event held in February of this year, and several interested purchasers have made appointments with the sales team to return and visit specific plots with a view to reserving their dream home.

Built on the site of British Sugar’s former sugar beet factory between Shrewsbury and Telford, work began on the second phase at Allscott Meads in January of this year and will see an additional 269 new homes delivered on the historic site, bringing the total number of homes at the development to 470.

Visitors to the site were able to view the four-bedroom detached Sutton home which offers an integrated garage and master suite with dressing area and en suite, and the three-bedroom semi-detached Longden which offers private parking for two vehicles and a contemporary kitchen-diner that opens onto the spacious rear garden.  They were also able to tour the wider development which includes a new primary school, a perimeter nature trail and significant levels of new hedgerows and trees, including a community orchard.  The new sports and social club will be completed and handed over later this month.

Commenting after the open weekend, Mike Sambrook at SJ Roberts Homes said:

“We welcomed a significant number of first-time buyers over our open weekend.  This is particularly encouraging given the slowdown that the market experienced following the removal of the Help to Buy programme that had previously supported so many of this segment of the market.

“Indeed, many had been referred by existing residents who could vouch for the quality of the build that we offer here, as well as the sales service and community feel of the development.

“Many of those who visited have already made appointments to come back and meet with the sales team having commented on what a refreshing difference Allscott Meads is to most other new developments.  They were particularly impressed by both the plot sizes as well as the amenity space on offer here and when coupled with the value for money that these homes offer, it’s no wonder they’re keen to come back.”

The sales suite at Allscott Meads is open daily, except on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
